The WITS Programs was developed in Esquimalt BC in response to an alarming increase in youth violence. WITS is designed to give children the strategies they need to make safe and positive choices when faced with situations involving teasing, threats, violence or aggressive behavior. Rock Solid believes that it is important that children are taught effective strategies at a young age in order to constructively respond to situations that could grow violent. Similar to the "Stop, Drop & Roll" if you are on fire, students learn to "Walk away, Ignore, Talk it Out, and Seek Help", if they are confronted with an aggressive situation.

Conflicts and bullying can happen anywhere. That’s why the WITS Programs bring together schools, families and communities to create responsive environments that help children deal with bullying and peer victimization in multiple contexts.

The WITS Primary Program was created by educators for educators with an understanding that effective peer victimization prevention programs should enhance learning environments - not workloads. Program resources are designed to integrate into the daily life of the learning environment.
